Agricultural Hi-tech Fair Opens in Yangling, China

On 25 October 2026, the 33rd China Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Fair opened in the city of Yangling, People's Republic of China. The event takes place at the SCO Demonstration Zone for Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training, with the theme "A New Future of Agriculture with New Quality Productive Forces."
More than 170 guests from over 40 countries are attending. Welcoming speeches were given by:
- Wang Guangqian, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference
- Zhao Yide, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shaanxi Province
- Pan Wenbo, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs
In his address, T.R. Midhun, Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO, emphasized Yangling's significance within the organization, citing the Bishkek Declaration on the 25th Anniversary of the SCO (adopted on 1 September 2026), which pledged to strengthen food security cooperation and exchange agricultural technologies.
2026 SCO Modern Agriculture Development Roundtable
A roundtable discussion, facilitated by T.R. Midhun, explored leveraging the SCO Agricultural Base for cooperative water-efficient agriculture in arid regions of the SCO member states. Representatives from various sectors participated in the discussions.
