Berks County Hires First Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture

The County of Berks is joyful to welcome Emily Wangolo As a Outcome of the County’s first Deputy Director for the Department of Agriculture. On this new place, Wangolo will assist Authorities Director Tami Hildebrand in assisting the mission and goals of the Department of Agriculture to further promote the agriculture enterprise in Berks County. Wangolo’s first day with the County is June 30.

“The County Commissioners are dedicated to assisting Agri-enterprise in Berks County and the Agriculture group and acknowledge it as An important enterprise sector,” said Pamela Shupp Menet, the County’s Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Financial Enchancment. “The Deputy place was created in recognition of this dedication.”

On this new position, Wangolo Shall be Responsible for promoting the agri-enterprise system, growing alternatives for the County’s agricultural current-chain, and partnering with agricultural groups. Wangolo has a bachelor’s diploma in Environmental Science and a grasp’s diploma in Agronomy.

Wangolo beforehand labored as an Agricultural & Editorial Advisor, a Soil Science Specialist, and a Evaluation and Enchancment Senior Supervisor. In these places, she educated farmers in agricultural practices, oversaw metropolis pure farm manufacturing and greenhouse horticulture and floriculture manufacturing, and lead educational agricultural research and publication.

“Collectively with her very numerous agricultural expertise, Emily brings an understanding of agriculture, science, soil, meals current, and manufacturing Which will complement and further enhance our group.” Hildebrand said. “We look forward to having Emily be a part of us!”
