Berks County hires its first deputy director of agriculture

Berks County is bolstering its assist for the agricultural group.

Officers introduced Tuesday that They’ve employed a deputy director for the Division of Agriculture — a mannequin new place To assist promote the native agricultural enterprise.

Emily Wangolo Can be The primary to fill that submit. On this new place, She Goes to assist Authorities Director Tami Hildemannequin in assisting the mission and goals of the department.

Pamela Shupp Menet, deputy chief administrative officer and director of financial enhancement for the county, said in a press launch that creating this place reveals that the county commissioners are dedicated to assisting agriculture and acknowledge it as An important enterprise.

Wangolo Shall be Responsible for promoting the agrienterprise system, growing alternatives for the county’s agricultural current chain and partnering with agricultural organizations.

Wangolo, who has studied environmental science and agronomy, labored as an agricultural and editorial advisor earlier than coming to the county.

She furtherly has expertise as a soil science specialist and in evaluation and enhancement. In these places, she educated farmers in agricultural practices and oversaw metropolis pure farm manufacturing, greenhouse horticulture and floriculture manufacturing.
