BRAWLEY-- Victor A. Lopez, President and CEO of Rockwood Ag Services and President of the Imperial Valley Conservation Research Center (IVCRC), recently emphasized the significance of a new agreement with the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) in a press release.

IVCRC, located in Brawley, is an independent research hub offering diverse facilities, including test fields, labs, greenhouses, offices, and coolers. It facilitates agricultural research under the unique desert growing conditions of the Imperial Valley.

The partnership leverages the region's rich history in agricultural innovation, dating back to the establishment of the research station by local farmers in 1948. The collaboration focuses on:

  • Advancing innovation
  • Assisting growers in navigating evolving demands related to:
    • Water stewardship
    • Growing practices
    • Testing of crops and agricultural inputs

UC ANR, with its extensive research expertise, provides practical solutions to agricultural and natural resource challenges through UC Cooperative Extension advisors, specialists, and programs. This partnership aims to bridge IVCRC's local research capabilities with UC ANR's expertise, benefiting the Imperial Valley's agricultural sector.
