Cricket the calf has brought hands-on agriculture to Marksville High, providing a unique learning experience for students. After receiving plenty of love and care, Cricket returned to school with renewed energy and curiosity about agriculture. She particularly enjoys drinking milk from a bottle, and her playful nature has captured the hearts of both agriculture students and the principal.
FFA members have been educating their classmates about calf care, including feeding, handling, and understanding Cricket's daily needs. This experience offers students a practical look at agriculture and its connection to animal care, responsibility, and leadership. Cricket's presence also highlights how agriculture can create engaging, hands-on learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Marksville High FFA thanked Mrs. Kristin for ensuring Cricket's well-being and for facilitating this educational experience.
"There’s just something special about bringing agriculture into the classroom," the FFA noted. "Sometimes the best lessons come with four legs, a bottle of milk, and a whole lot of personality!"
