Darrell Hanavan to Join Father in Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame
The Colorado FFA Foundation has announced that Darrell Hanavan will be inducted into the Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame with the Class of 2027. He and his father, Charles L. Hanavan Jr., inducted in 2020, will be the first father-and-son pair in the hall.
Charles L. Hanavan Jr. was inducted into the Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2020 after a lifetime of farming, agricultural leadership, and service to Colorado’s farmers and rural communities. The induction ceremony for the Class of 2027 is scheduled for February 25.
Darrell Hanavan served as the executive director of the Colorado Wheat Administrative Committee for 34 years, from 1982 to 2016, and added leadership of the Colorado Wheat Research Foundation, which he founded, from 1989 to 2016, as well as the Colorado Association of Wheat Growers from 1998 to 2016. He simultaneously led the state’s wheat policy, advocacy, and research organizations for nearly two decades.
