David Tangpia, Assemblyman for California's Central Valley, discusses the challenges facing farmers and the state. Known for his commitment to agriculture and core American values, Tangipa shares insights on California's crisis, free speech, and the importance of defending our farms and freedoms.
California in Crisis: Beyond Agriculture
Tangipa asserts, "We are in crisis mode. Actually, we’re in crisis mode in so many areas in this state, whether it’s our budget, whether it’s just defending our values." He emphasizes that this crisis extends beyond politics, impacting the everyday lives of Californians.
He cites the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a conservative commentator, as an example of the growing threats to free speech. "The only weapon that Charlie ever had was a microphone. And this was, in my opinion, a true domestic terrorist attack... people will not allow fear to dictate their ability to speak."
Despite the tragedy, Tangipa sees a turning point: "I do believe the turning point just started. People are saying no more. We will not be hunted, we will not stand down."
Defending Free Speech and Conservative Values
Tangipa challenges ideological extremism and media bias. "Just because you don’t like what they say doesn’t make them a fascist... it’s that ideology that is actually the closed-minded one." He encourages standing firm against efforts to silence differing opinions.
Agriculture as National Security
Tangipa advocates for recognizing agriculture as a national security issue, stating, "I’m trying to get national security recognized as including food security." He highlights the importance of ensuring a stable food supply for the nation.
