Daviess Co. Students Open Up New Greenhouse

Daviess County and Apollo High School students are putting their green thumbs to use this spring as they officially open the school’s greenhouse, featuring a variety of flowers, herbs, hanging baskets, and other plants all grown and raised by them. The horticulture program provides hands-on learning opportunities, educating students about different plants and best practices for cultivation.

Student Wyatt Hayes shares his perspective on the experience:

"I think it’s very important to have an agriculture education at some point for your school career, because people need to see and understand the work that goes into it to have food on the table…”

Community members are welcome to stop by and purchase the plants, with the greenhouses remaining open until everything is sold.
