Egypt Secures IFAD Support for Climate-Resilient Agriculture

Egypt has signed two agreements with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to strengthen its role in sharing agricultural expertise across the Middle East and Africa.

The pacts aim to support small-scale farmers by improving water management, increasing their incomes, and adapting to climate change, according to a statement.

They cover two ongoing projects:

  • The Climate-Resilient On-Farm Water Management in the Nile Valley (CROWN)
  • The Positioning Egypt for Agricultural Resilience and Leadership (PEARL)

Both projects are backed by $64.85 million in IFAD financing and a $470,000 grant, respectively.
