Farmers' Late Season Push to Complete Corn Harvest
Harvest is winding down in many parts of the Upper Midwest. Joe Dee, the agronomy sales lead for Ag Partners Coop, serving south-central and southeast Minnesota, as well as western Wisconsin, notes that activity picked up in October after a wet start to the fall.
“I would say we’re 80 to 85 percent completed on corn harvest, with soybeans already done. But as soon as guys could get into the field, they really accelerated, especially in the last week.”
Dee explains that Ag Partners Coop begins applying dry fertilizer as early as possible to stay ahead of the 2027 crop year:
“We kind of chase combines, getting ahead of the game to alleviate some of the work backlog next spring.”
He mentions that some anhydrous ammonia is being applied in their western territory.
