From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with your Agribusiness Update.
- Mexico remains the top market for U.S. food and agricultural exports, reaching a record $30.6 billion in 2025, accounting for 18% of total U.S. food and ag exports. Market opportunities continue to expand, with U.S. consumer products seeing a 13% increase.
- U.S. meat products, food prep, fresh vegetables, and baked goods are among the largest growing food categories. Continued opportunities in retail and food service make Mexico an optimal market for U.S. products.
- The USDA and Small Business Administration have signed a new agreement aimed at helping farmers, ranchers, and small rural businesses challenge unfair federal regulatory and enforcement actions. This partnership, under USDA's Farmer and Rancher Freedom Framework, includes a new USDA Law Portal for reporting regulatory disputes and assistance.
- The United States is the second-largest supplier of agricultural products to Vietnam, at $4.7 billion in 2025. Vietnam’s increasing population and rapidly growing GDP have benefitted U.S. ag exports. The greatest potential for U.S. ag exports in Vietnam includes fresh fruits, dairy, and poultry products, as well as feed and feed ingredients, cotton, ethanol, and ag-related products.
