Six countries' international buyers will visit Illinois agricultural businesses and facilities from October 5-8 during the 2026 Illinois Grain Tour. The goal, according to the Illinois Department of Agriculture, is to foster relationships that could boost export sales of Illinois agricultural products. Buyers from Mexico, Colombia, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and Honduras will participate.
The tour includes a stop on Monday, October 5, at Melvin Price Locks and Dam in East Alton. Illinois Agriculture Director Jerry Costello and international buyers will be available for media interviews outside the secure federal facility from 10:15 to 10:30 a.m.
Other stops include:
- Grain & Protein Technologies
- Perten Instruments
- Clarkson Grain
- Illinois Soybean Association
- Marquis Energy
- Seedburo Equipment Co.
- Chicago Board of Trade/MANNS Traders Group
- DeLong Co.
The department has been hosting grain tours since 1996 and held a virtual tour during the COVID-19 pandemic.
