Razor clam harvesting is now closed to all harvest coastwide
The Oregon Department of Agriculture and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife announced today that razor clam harvesting is closed to all harvest coastwide due to elevated levels of domoic acid, a marine biotoxin, in recent samples. This includes the popular razor clam harvesting area of Clatsop Beach.
Mussel harvesting updates
Mussel harvesting will reopen on the southern coast as domoic acid levels tested below the alert level. Harvesting of mussels is now open coastwide.
Staying informed
People should always call the Shellfish Safety Hotline at 1-800-448-2474 before heading out to harvest any shellfish or visit the ODA Recreational Shellfish Biotoxin Closures Webpage for the most current information.
