Tennessee Livestock Producers Now Eligible for Fencing Cost-Share Funds
Tennessee agricultural producers can now apply for a new Livestock Fencing program through the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP).
(WBBJ) - Effective October 1, 2026, livestock producers in Tennessee have access to cost-share funding for eligible fencing investments that support their operations. This initiative is part of the TAEP, offering financial assistance for the installation of new permanent perimeter and cross-fencing.
"Adding livestock fencing to TAEP gives more Tennessee livestock producers a way to invest in the infrastructure they need to manage their operations," said Agriculture Commissioner Andy Holt.
Cost-Share Details
For the 2026-27 cycle, TAEP programs generally offer a 50% cost share on eligible expenses, capped at each program's maximum reimbursement amount, ranging from $3,000 to $12,000. This year's changes include:
- Reducing the minimum hay production requirement from 100 acres to 50 acres.
- Lowering the minimum swine requirement from 1,000 head to 100 head.
- Adding items to the Livestock Equipment program.
