Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller told NewsNation that Republicans might face challenges in the upcoming midterm elections due to rapid data center development, criticizing Governor Greg Abbott's stance on the issue.

"Basically, we've just quit listening to the people, and we're gonna pay for it this election," said Miller. "Eighty percent of people don't want a data center in their backyard."

He also addressed President Trump's $8 billion relief program for farmers, stating, "We don't want a handout... but if it comes right down to filing bankruptcy and not being able to feed our families, we'll take it."

Miller highlighted the challenges faced by Texas farmers, including record-high diesel prices and rising fertilizer costs.

"We have to be food independent," he added, criticizing the administration's recent tariff reductions on imported beef.
